1. Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the meanest girl of all?

Hoofdstuk 1. Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the meanest girl of all? Eleanor or Elyna.

Chapter One.

4th of June.

The morning was cold and a little sun was shining on the estate of the Farnsworth's.

'Well who's the prettiest, my little sister'?
The eldest daughter of Bernard Farnsworth stood before the mirror.
The youngest didn't answer.
'Elyna'?
'You' she said and sighed.
'Come on, little sis, don't complain'
The little Elyna looked at her elder sister.
'Don't frown, you will get wrinkle's' Eleanor grinned wickedly.
Elyna stood up and left the room without saying a word.

The general maid of the household was moving the laundry.
'Cynthia, may I ask you something'?
Elyna hoped that she would feel better after a talk with Cynthia.
'Of course you can little Elyna'
Elyna smiled by hearing the warm voice of the general maid.
'Do you have elder sisters'?
Cynthia was surprised by the question.
'No, I only have two elder brothers'
'That's not the same, I think'
'No, my brothers always cared for me, they weren't like Eleanor'
Elyna nodded.
'Alright'
'Oh little girl, don't worry. You have a very pure soul. Eleanor's faith wouldn't be that good as yours. Watch my words'
Elyna frowned again, sighed and walked further through the long corridor.
She stopped for the door of her fathers room.
She took a deep breath and with al her courage she knocked on her door.
'Door's open' she heard her fathers voice. She always felt so happy by hearing his voice, it was like he sung the words, soft and smooth.
'Dad, about the party, tomorrow evening. I-I don't know if I want this'
Bernard smiled. 'Craig's perfect for you. Trust me'
'But what if he doesn't like me. And what if I'm not pretty enough for him'
'Did Eleanor told you that she was the prettiest, again'?
Elyna nodded. 'Honey, you look just like your mom, and your mom was a very beautiful woman. Especially your eyes are the same. And you know, the eyes of your mom reflected her soul and her soul was'
'Pure' Elyna already knew what he wanted to say.
Her father smiled. 'Yes'
How could her father say such a thing like that, he also had another daughter.
'Not that I don't like Eleanor, but she's more like me' Elyna didn't understand.
'Let me explain. Eleanor keeps saying she's the prettiest, right? Just because she misses her self-confidence'
'But I still don't understand dad'
'You will understand in time'
Elyna smiled.
'Now don't worry about the masquerade tomorrow evening'
'Well maybe there is something to worry about'
Her father smiled. 'You will wear your mother's dress'
Elyna couldn't believe her ears. She would wear her mother's dress. She was so happy. For a second she looked her father in his eyes and they both smiled.

Still grinning widely she met Eleanor again.
'Why are you smiling'?
'You will see' and she walked further.
Eleanor gave her an ugh and comnanded the nanny.
'Yes, young Lady Farnsworth' the nanny hasted.
Eleanor didn't like it to wait for things.
And her dress had to be perfect for tomorrow evening.
Lloyd would be astonished.

Downstairs Elyna had received a letter from Craig.
His disorderly handwriting made her chuckle.
When she had read the letter she held him close to her heart.
Craig was her love, her life.
Her heart was pounding when she thought of him.
She sighed happily. Tomorrow would be perfect.
Or...?
Still Elyna had a strange feeling.
